Tiffani Thiessen was born on January 23, 1974 in Long Beach, California to dad Frank Thiessen, a park designer, and mom Robyn Thiessen, a homemaker. On her Uncle Roger Ernest’s (himself a screenwriter/actor) suggestion, Tiffani tried modeling when she was eight. She started doing commercials for Cream Barbie Doll and The Peaches. She was disappointed when she never got hold of the Barbie doll (instead she had to hold Ken) thinking she wasn’t blond enough.

She then went on to compete in various beauty pageants, eventually winning the Miss Junior America crown in 1987. She also won a string of modeling search like Teen Magazine’s Great Model Search (1988) and Cover Girl Magazine’s Model of the Year (1989).

It was in the NBC series “Saved by the Bell” (1989) where she played a popular cheerleader named Kelly Kapowski that ultimately gave her big break. When it was cancelled, she moved in to “Son-in-Law” where she co-starred with Pauly Shore.

Not only has Tiffani got beauty; she got the brains to go with it. She was named class valedictorian in Valley Professional High School in Studio City in 1992.

She had her first starring movie role in “A Killer Among Friends” (1992) in which she got tortured and killed by her two best friends. She then guest-starred in “Married… with Children” where she met Brian Austin Green – boyfriend/husband/and now ex-hubby.

She did a milk commercial and then reprised her role as Kelly Kapowski in “Saved by the Bell: The College Years” (1993). Then came a role in Aaron Spelling’s long-running wildly popular series, Beverly Hills 90210. She played the mean, bitchy, and conniving vixen, Valerie Malone. Her constant enemy on Beverly Hills, Kelly Taylor, played by Jennie Garth, is actually her best friend in real life.

She left the series in 1998 to pursue her movie career. She made a couple of independent films and comedies, including one in which she starred alongside Woody Allen. In 1998, she starred as Marti in the hit sitcom “Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place.”

In the fall of 2002, she joined best friend Jennie’s husband, Peter Facinelli and Bill Ballamy on FOX’s drama/action series, “Fastlane” (2002).

She admitted an “ongoing struggle” to fit Hollywood’s waifish beauty ideal; and dropped her middle name, Amber, to be taken more seriously. She also owns her own production company, “Tit 4 Tat Productions.”
